We're in the middle of a carport installation job in Ava, Missouri - and before any structure goes up, the ground has to be right. That means stripping the existing turf, moving material, and grading the area to a proper level. It's not the flashiest part of the job, but it's the most important one.
Here's the thing most people don't think about - a carport sitting on uneven or poorly prepared ground is going to cause problems down the line. Drainage issues, shifting, uneven wear on the structure. Getting the grade right from the start is what prevents all of that. We take that seriously on every single job.
We're running a CAT 265 track loader on this one. The rubber tracks give us better ground control in tighter residential spaces, and the machine has the power to move and re-grade material efficiently without tearing up surrounding areas. You can see the cleared, worked soil taking shape with the brick walkway staying clean and undisturbed right alongside it.
Site preparation and yard leveling like this is work that sets everything else up for success. Whether it's a carport, a pad, a driveway, or any other structure - the prep work underneath it is what determines how long it lasts and how well it performs. We don't cut corners on that step.
This one is still in progress and we'll have more to share as it comes together. If you've got a project in Southwest Missouri that needs proper site prep or grading work done right, this is the kind of attention to detail we bring to every job.
